Backed by an NSF grant, Dr. Lynn Cominsky of Sonoma State University, California, engaged Over the Sun, LLC to produce the most accurate, sophisticated virtual fly-through of the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO). Working closely with LIGO staff at Caltech, OTS built the 3 minute animation from SolidWorks models and work-flow diagrams.

Upon completion, this animation was immediately used by LIGO staff in educational seminars and presentations, and will be featured in the Over the Sun’s third film for LIGO, “LIGO Detection”.
